Politics of a film: The deconstruction of the Privatization of History

Embedded with in this page is the link to my writing sample–an analysis of the film, “Miss Universe, 1929” (2006) by director Peter Forgacs.  I use the writing process as a tool to understand the fundamental elements of film that are important to me. During the process of analyzing this film, the notion of archiving became a very political process. This essay is the culmination of my thoughts on documentary film. It directly shows how the process of documenting is a political action.
